It all begins with an idea.

The “Ani-Mask” images are one that started with a friend’s beautiful paintings of ceramic masks that she was customizing into colorful ideas that had an edgy and fun look I loved. Inspired by her images I started to do paintings of my own and naturally that led to animals. There are some that lean toward people but all of them are entirely open to interpretation. They can be whatever you want them to be. Even though some of them are done with specific dog breeds in mind or certain ‘characteristics’ shall we say. Then there are the “Cool Cowboy” images and they are some of my favorites. My background always lends itself to a western theme at some point because of all the years spent horseback and on ranches. And the variety of hats are also fun to make any face take on a whole different look. Remember that each is an original image that has been hand painted by me.
